🇮🇹 USB Dockworkers Endorse Colombia’s Uniting for Peace
The Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) — one of Italy’s major labor unions representing dockworkers, transit employees, and public-sector workers nationwide — has officially declared its support for Colombian President Gustavo Petro’s Uniting for Peace initiative at the United Nations.
“The obstruction of justice will be met with the obstruction of the economy.
If they block the path to peace, we will block everything.”
From the ports of Genoa and Trieste to the streets of Rome and beyond, Italian workers are mobilizing in solidarity with Palestine. Their stand underscores a powerful truth: when governments fail to act, the power of workers can move the world toward justice.
By endorsing the call for a U.N.-mandated multinational protection force to end the genocide in Palestine, USB joins a growing global chorus demanding accountability and peace through the Uniting for Peace mechanism.
💪 This is what worker power looks like — solidarity that crosses borders, industries, and struggles.
